Fals (Bronze, 19 mm, 1.66 g, 6 h), Otrar, date illegible. ‘al-urdū / al-aʿẓam’ (‘The supreme horde’ in Arabic); date formula around; all within a dotted circle. Rev. In a central circle, Qaidu’s tamgha; above and beneath, ‘sikka – Utrār’ (‘The coin of Otrar’ in Arabic); around, citing the long-deceased ʿAbbasid caliph al-Nasir li-din Allah (AH 575-622 / AD 1180-1225) as ‘al-imām al-a[ʿẓam] al-Nāṣir li-jamīʿ al-muʾminīn’ (‘The supreme Imam, al-Nasir [i.e. Helper] to all the believers’ in Arabic).
